Just in case..
Nobody likes awkward surprises. Customers can reduce the excess to N$ 0, provided the rental duration is at least 11 days, the drivers are over 25 years old and are not travelling to Botswana.
Why don’t we offer Zero Excess Waiver in Botswana? The country is absolutely beautiful, but the routes within and around Botswana’s national parks can be particularly challenging. To ensure that this is not taken lightly and to protect customers from themselves, the renter always bears a certain residual risk in Botswana, as the excess can only be reduced to a minimum of N$ 20,000 (roughly € 1,000). Our clients understand this and have travelled through Botswana happily and without incident.
Please note that, like all other car hire companies in Namibia, we do not offer fully comprehensive insurance cover. There is only an option to reduce the excess. For example damages caused by gross negligence (such as speeding or drunk driving) are excluded from the insurance.
