DO I NEED A VISA FOR NAMIBIA

Some visitors to Namibia do not require a visa for stays of up to 90 days for tourism purposes. However, travelers from countries not on the visa-exempt list must apply for a visa well in advance or opt for the visa on arrival.

How to apply for a visa

  • Online in advance (RECOMMENDED)
    You can apply online through the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security (MHAISS) website via: https://eservices.mhaiss.gov.na.
    The online visa on arrival application processing time is roughly 48 hours. Be sure to print out all relevant documentation as well as the proof of payment and bring it along to show it to officials at the border.
  • On Arrival (expect longer waiting times)
    Applications can be completed on arrival at the listed Namibian ports of entry.

Costs of a visa application

The following fees apply to tourist/holiday visas:
• NAD 1 600 (roughly USD 90) for citizens from non-African countries
• NAD 1 200 (roughly USD 70) for citizens from African Countries
